Important Date Information

 ***NEW***

Women Who Du is changing to a bi-annual event, meaning it will take place every other year starting in 2021. The next WWD will be in September of 2021.

Women Who Du has changed seasons. We've switched from being a beginning of the race season event to an end of race season event due to the unpredictability of Michigan spring and wanting to allow you to get some saddle time in before the event.

What is Women Who Du?

Women Who Du is an all women's duathlon (run, bike, run) designed by women for women. The goal of WWD is to provide participants with a community of like-minded women that encourage and lift each other up to be the best version of themselves. Think we can do all of that in an event? Join us and you will feel the #girlpower that is present!

Location

Packet pick-up, transition, the start and finish are all located at the First Wesleyan Student Center (14425 Helmer Rd South). It's the big blue building on campus.

Event Timeline

8:00 am - Packet pick-up opens

9:00 am - Event start time

10:00 - 12:00 pm - After party with lots of chocolate, friends and fun!

Swag

All participants receive an awesome women's specific event shirt, a finisher's bracelet custom made by Momentum Jewelry, and post race refreshments.

Transition

We get a lot of questions about transition from women who have never done a multi-sport event before. NO WORRIES! We will gladly walk you through every step of the way.

You will start the event with a run. Your transition area should be set up with everything you would need to bike (bike, helmet, cycling shoes if you prefer). Some people like to also leave a small snack in their transition area to fuel their ride and next run. Leave all your running gear behind, then hop on your bike and head out. It will be waiting for you when you return.

Weather Policy

Women Who Du may be delayed up to one hour from the 9:00 am start time due to hazardous weather conditions. After one hour, if conditions are still deemed too hazardous, the event will be canceled and turned into a virtual event. There will be no refunds or deferments in the event of a weather related cancellation. Cancellation of the event will be determined by the Cereal City Athletics Team and will be communicated to participants as soon as it is decided.

Relay Teams

Because everything is better with friends, right? The relay option allows you to share the event with other amazing women in your life. Whether you run and they bike or you you divide it another way, forming a relay makes it possible to get everyone involved. Think about your mom, daughter, BFF...which leg of the event would they be great at? Maybe you'd even like to do one portion together. However you split it is fine by us!

Courses

Run 1

Run 1

Run 1

Coming in at about a 1.5 miles, with 1.1 miles being on the trails in Woodland Nature Preserve. The trails offer beautiful scenery, rolling hills and mixed surfaces of grass, wood chip and dirt.

*Many areas of the trails are subject to flooding in the spring. Course may need to be altered.*

Bike

Run 1

Run 1

The approx. 9 mile bike course is a combination of two out and back stretches through the back roads of the area. With a few rolling hills and some great downhills, this course is beginner friendly and challenging at the same time.

Run 2

Run 1

Run 2

The second run is a 5k, again heading back into the beautiful Woodland Park Nature Preserve. Enjoy the sights (and the hills) as you wind through new sections of the trails and revisit old ones.

*Many areas of the trails are subject to flooding in the spring. Course may need to be altered.*

After Party

Chocolate. Need we say more?

The after party may be the best part of the day. Participants can enjoy an amazing breakfast spread complete with gourmet chocolates. Hang out and join in the festivities and celebrate each other.

It is a rewarding experience to cheer on amazing women from all walks crossing the finish line. That's why we designed an after arty atmosphere to make you want to stick around and experience it for yourself. We believe in women lifting up women and that is what this event is all about; from the beginning to the very end.  If you stick about long enough, we may even end up sending you home with extra chocolate. ;)
